Why take the online Driver Improvement Program (DIP)?

  • You may have been assigned to the Driver Improvement Program (DIP) by the MVA, the Courts, or an Administrative Law Judge.
  • You may have received your first moving violation while holding a provisional license.
  • You may be suspended or revoked and need the Driver Improvement Program (DIP) to get your suspension lifted or to get reinstated.
  • If you are revoked, you will need to complete the program as part of your reinstatement process. You will not have a referral letter telling you to complete the program by a certain date.
  • In all other instances concerning an MVA referral letter, you will need to complete the program by the completion date (due date) listed on the top of your letter or you will be suspended until you successfully finish the program.

What should I do after I finish the course?

You must take the final exam in person at one of our test areas.

When will I get my Certificate of Completion?

You will receive your Certificate of Completion immediately after you have passed your 10- to 15-minute final exam, which you must take in person at one our posted test areas.


You will be permitted to take the final exam at the test area after we have checked your photo identification and verified that you have completed the 11-session Driver Improvement Program online.

How much is the course? How do I pay for it?

The cost of the Driver Improvement Program (DIP) is $69. You will pay this fee once you have passed the final exam at one of our test areas in order to receive your Certificate of Completion. We accept cash or money orders only.

How long do I have to complete the course?

You can complete the course at your own pace, logging on and off as many times as necessary to complete the course. However, keep in mind that the MVA or court has probably given you a deadline or due date, by which you need to complete the course. Remember: completing the course includes taking the final exam in person at one of our posted test areas.

Do I need any special computer system requirements or downloads to take the course?

There are no special system requirements or downloads necessary to take this online course. You will need to have JavaScript enabled on your Internet browser to view some of the features in the course.


If you have no idea what this means, don’t worry! Most browsers such as Internet Explorer, AOL, Netscape, and Firefox, are already JavaScript-enabled by default. Unless you have manually disabled JavaScript yourself, you’ll be fine.

How do I register for this course?

  • To begin, return to our Home page and look for our registration form.
  • Select your course.
  • Fill out the rest of the fields.
  • Review the information and click the “Register” button.

Do I need to use the same computer to complete the course?

No. You can log in, re-enter, and take the course using any computer with any type of Internet connection.

What happens if I fail the final exam?

If you fail to receive a passing score of 80% or better on the final test, the MVA requires that you wait at least 24 hours before you will be allowed to retake the test. This applies to classroom and Internet and all schools.


We will not collect your fee until you pass the test. You may go back and review the course online for FREE until you pass the final exam.

If I am already suspended or revoked, can I take the course?

Yes, you can. See the first question for more details.

My due date is on the 30th of this month. If I complete the program on the 30th, will the MVA be notified in time?

Yes. We transmit your certificate information via email to the MVA within 24 hours of your course completion. Please remember that “course completion” means finishing the online readings and also coming in person to one of our posted test areas to take your final exam.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our policy is not to cancel unless there is an extreme weather condition. In this situation, the cancellation will be posted immediately.
